A Life Story ("we", "us") helps families record a loved one's life stories through weekly voice conversations and turns them into private audio moments and podcast episodes. These terms explain the rules for using the service.

Who this covers

These terms apply to anyone who creates an account, sets up a circle, records or receives stories, manages a subscription, or otherwise uses A Life Story.

Using the service

• You must be able to enter into these terms and use the service lawfully.
• You are responsible for the information, recordings, and permissions you provide.
• If you invite a storyteller or family member, you are responsible for making sure they understand how the service works and consent to participate.
• You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or try to access accounts, recordings, transcripts, or circles that are not yours.

Accounts and circles

Keep your account information accurate and protect your sign-in credentials. Circle sponsors choose who can participate in a family circle and are responsible for managing access to shared stories.

Story content

You keep ownership of the recordings, transcripts, memories, photos, and other content you provide. You give us permission to host, process, transcribe, summarize, and present that content only so we can operate A Life Story, support your account, and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

AI-assisted output

A Life Story uses transcription and AI-assisted tools to help conduct conversations and turn memories into private audio moments and episodes. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate, so you should review important details before sharing or relying on them.

Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed through the App Store or the payment provider shown at purchase. Plans renew automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel an App Store subscription in your Apple account settings, and access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to storytellers and circle members.

Service changes

We may update, suspend, or stop parts of the service when needed to operate, secure, or improve A Life Story. We may also update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that every recording, transcript, summary, call, or episode will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, A Life Story will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
